Terms & Conditions

1. STANDARD OF PLAY

Members of your Society/company who cannot play to a competent standard ( i.e. a minimum of a 28 handicap for Men or 36 for a Lady) will not enjoy the day. Although we do not expect all players to hold an official handicap, we expect them to play to a reasonable standard. Each participant must have their own golf clubs, golf footwear and is expected to know and carry out the normal etiquette of golf.

2. DEPOSITS / CANCELLATIONS

When booking a society, event or function the deposit and a signed copy of the Terms and Conditions should be returned. If these are not received, the Club reserves the right to release the booking without notice. Once the Club has received a deposit no refund can be given should any cancellation be necessary.

3. ADVERTISING / SIGNS

The fixing of signs, displays and posters to walls upon the golf course or in any other location within the grounds or in the clubhouse of East Herts Golf Club, may not be carried out without the authorisation of the General Manager.

4. PAYMENT OF ACCOUNTS

The organiser prior to departure must pay all charges in full. Payment can be made in cash, cheque, or debit card.

5. AMATEUR STATUS

In arranging golf days, organisers should be aware that is prejudicial to the amateur status of a golfer to be awarded prizes in excess of £300 value. The Club cannot allow hole in one or other prizes that are in excess of this amount.

6. PLAY

All play is from the yellow tee markers for men and red markers for ladies. Organisers are expected to ensure that all members of their party are made aware of their confirmed starting times; players arriving late may forfeit their turn to play. You will be notified on the day if there is any amendment to your starting points and times.

7. SLOW PLAY

Slow play is unacceptable and will detract from the day’s enjoyment for all players. It is therefore the Organiser’s responsibility to choose formats that encourage continuous play. Stableford competitions are much more enjoyable than stroke play. The Club does not permit Texas Scrambles to be played. For societies/companies playing 36 holes, it is recommended that at least one round is a foursomes or greensomes.

8. DRESS CODE

Players may not wear denim jeans, tracksuits, or tee shirts on the golf course. Proper golfing trousers or tailored shorts (with socks which must be predominantly white) must be worn with a collared or roll-neck shirt and golf shoes (not trainers). Changing of clothing, including footwear is not permitted in the car park. Mobile phones may be used responsibly.

9. LIABILITY

The Club cannot accept any liability for any damage to other persons by visiting players whilst on the Club’s property including damage arising out of negligence. All players in your party should be notified that they enter onto the golf course or into the Club’s premises at their own risk and consent to the risk of loss, damage to or injury howsoever caused.

10. COURSE ETIQUETTE

All golfers are requested to observe course etiquette – players must rake all bunkers after use, replace divots and repair pitch marks on the greens, not take trolleys onto the aprons of greens or onto the tees. We would appreciate these points being brought to the attention of those in your group when they register on the day.

11. COURSE/CLUBHOUSE CLOSURE

East Herts Golf Club reserves the right to cancel the booking upon immediate notice, if the holding of the event is prevented by reasons of circumstance beyond the control of the Golf Club. The Club will attempt to give as much notice as possible, but in no event shall it be liable for any loss or damage arising in such cancellation. Any deposit or monies paid on account shall be reimbursed upon such cancellation.

12. COURSE MAINTENANCE

East Herts also reserves the right to carry out essential maintenance to the greens and other areas of the course. This may require partial closure of sections of the course. In such cases visiting groups will be expected to play under the conditions of the day.

13. TARIFFS

East Herts reserves the right to alter published tariffs and menus without prior notice.
